At 525 PM CDT, Doppler radar and automated rain gauges indicated severe thunderstorms producing torrential rain in Amherst and Littlefield. Between 2 and 3 inches of rain have fallen. Additional rainfall amounts of 1 to 3 inches are possible in the warned area. Flash flooding is already occurring. Amherst measured over 2.2 inches of rain with large hail. HAZARD…Flash flooding caused by thunderstorms. SOURCE…Radar and automated gauges.
