At 525 PM CDT, Doppler radar and automated rain gauges indicated severe thunderstorms producing torrential rain in Amherst and Littlefield. Between 2 and 3 inches of rain have fallen. Additional rainfall amounts of 1 to 3 inches are possible in the warned area. Flash flooding is already occurring. Amherst measured over 2.2 inches of rain with large hail.
