A magnitude 4.1 earthquake near Santa Rosa, Sonoma County, California, USA, was reported only 2 minutes ago by the European-Mediterranean Seismological Centre (EMSC), considered one of the key international agencies that monitor seismic activity worldwide. The earthquake occurred at a very shallow depth of 5 miles beneath the epicenter early morning on Monday, June 24th, 2024, at 5:22 am local time. The exact magnitude, epicenter, and depth of the quake might be revised within the next few hours or minutes as seismologists review data and refine their calculations, or as other agencies issue their report.
Based on the preliminary seismic data, the quake should not have caused any significant damage, but was probably felt by many people as light vibration in the area of the epicenter.
Weak shaking might have been felt in Cobb (pop. 1,800) located 7 miles from the epicenter, Cloverdale (pop. 8,800) 10 miles away, Clearlake (pop. 15,200) 14 miles away, and Windsor (pop. 27,500) 21 miles away.

3.2 quake 24 Jun 5:07 am (GMT -7)

Just 11 minutes ago, a 3.2-magnitude earthquake struck near Alhambra, Los Angeles County, California, USA. The tremor was recorded early morning on Monday, June 24th, 2024, at 5:07 am local time, at a shallow depth of 6.2 miles below the surface.
The event was filed by the United States Geological Survey, the first seismological agency to report it.
A second report was later issued by the European-Mediterranean Seismological Centre (EMSC), which listed it as a magnitude 3.2 earthquake as well.
Based on the preliminary seismic data, the quake should not have caused any significant damage, but was probably felt by many people as light vibration in the area of the epicenter.
Weak shaking might have been felt in South Pasadena (pop. 26,200) located 3 miles from the epicenter, and Alhambra (pop. 85,600) 3 miles away.
