Seminal Resilience Engineering Research

Resilience engineering acknowledges how humans are intimately coupled with complex social, ecological, and technological systems. As such, resilience engineering seminal work considers the dynamic nature of complex adaptive systems by incorporating the social dimension to better understand how these systems might behave in surprise or unexpected conditions. Applications are especially relevant to fields such as emergency management, disaster response, and infrastructure. This seminal work section offers a platform for coalescing diverse concepts and perspectives of resilience that have influenced the emergent field of resilience engineering.
