Buildings on the river side of the Berwick floodwall will flood. River traffic restrictions will be strictly enforced. Moderate tremor of magnitude 4.1 just reported 59 miles west of Unalaska, Alaska, United States

An earthquake of magnitude 4.1 occurred only 22 minutes ago 59 miles west of Unalaska, Alaska, United States, the United States Geological Survey reported.
The quake hit at an intermediate to considerable depth of 169 miles beneath the epicenter near Unalaska, Aleutians West, Alaska, USA, in the morning on Wednesday, April 16th, 2025, at 7:37 am local time. The exact magnitude, epicenter, and depth of the quake might be revised within the next few hours or minutes as seismologists review data and refine their calculations, or as other agencies issue their report.
A second report was later issued by the European-Mediterranean Seismological Centre (EMSC), which listed it as a magnitude 4.1 earthquake as well.
According to preliminary calculations, we do not expect that the quake was felt by many people and did not cause any damage. In Dutch Harbor (pop. 4,400, 59 miles away), and Unalaska (pop. 4,500, 59 miles away), the quake was probably not felt.
