* WHAT…Flash flooding caused by excessive rainfall is possible. * WHERE…A portion of central Pennsylvania, including the following counties, Adams, Lancaster and York. * WHEN…From Thursday afternoon through late Thursday night. * IMPACTS…Excessive runoff may result in flooding of rivers, creeks, streams, and other low-lying and flood-prone locations. Flooding may occur in poor drainage and urban areas. * ADDITIONAL DETAILS… – Thunderstorms capable of producing very heavy rainfall rates in excess of 2 inches per hour may result in flash flooding. Rainfall amounts of 2 to 3 inches are expected with localized amounts of up to 5 inches possible. – http://www.weather.gov/safety/flood

If you are located in this coastal area, move off the beach and out of harbors and marinas. Tsunami advisories mean that a tsunami capable of producing strong currents or waves dangerous to persons in or very near the water is expected or is already occurring. Areas in the advisory should not expect widespread inundation. Tsunamis are a series of waves dangerous many hours after initial arrival time. The first wave may not be the largest. At 425 PM Pacific Daylight Time on July 29 an earthquake with preliminary magnitude 8.8 occurred 80 miles southeast of Petropavlovsk Kamchatka.
