Just 15 minutes ago, a 4.4-magnitude earthquake struck near Changuinola, Changuinola District, Provincia de Bocas del Toro, Panama. The tremor was recorded early evening on Saturday, October 25th, 2025, at 6:45 pm local time, at a very shallow depth of 0. km below the surface.
The event was filed by The Colombian Geological Service (SGC), the first seismological agency to report it.
Based on the preliminary seismic data, the quake should not have caused any significant damage, but was probably felt by many people as light vibration in the area of the epicenter.
Weak shaking might have been felt in Piedra Candela (pop. 650) located 30 km from the epicenter, Rio Sereno (pop. 1,400) 33 km away, Santa Clara (pop. 1,400) 34 km away, Volcan (pop. 10,300) 47 km away, El Empalme (pop. 11,000) 53 km away, and Changuinola (pop. 18,000) 54 km away.
Other towns or cities near the epicenter where the quake might have been felt as very weak shaking include Almirante (pop. 8,700) located 58 km from the epicenter, La Concepcion (pop. 17,700) 73 km away, and David (pop. 82,000) 92 km away.
