Geomechanics and Geosensing Faculty Position
The Department of Civil and Environmental Engineering (CEE) at the University of Houston invites applications for a fulltime,
tenure-track faculty position in the broad area of Geomechanics/Geosensing nexus. All qualified candidates are invited
to apply at the Assistant or Associate Professor rank, with encouragement for those with multidisciplinary interests.
Qualifications
We seek an exceptional individual to lead a dynamic, internationally recognized research and teaching program at the intersection of geomechanics modeling, geosensing, and machine learning/data analytics. The ideal candidate will have a background in civil and environmental engineering, geosciences, or geomatics, with a strong record of research excellence and scholarly publications in computational/theoretical modeling and its application to remote sensing technologies. We especially encourage applications from individuals whose work addresses natural hazards (e.g., earthquakes, landslides), geothermal energy, or nationally significant areas such as critical mineral exploration and recovery.
