Old Dominion University The Department of Mechanical & Aerospace Engineering (MAE) at the Batten College of Engineering & Technology (BCET) at Old Dominion University (ODU) in Norfolk, VA, invites applications for a tenure track or tenured faculty position in the broad area of biomechanics. This position is to begin in Fall 2025 and will be an annual 10-month appointment at the Assistant, Associate, or Full Professor rank. We are particularly seeking applicants in the areas of Computational or Experimental Biomechanics at the cell, tissue, organ or whole human body-level that are doing fundamental and/or applied research with applications that include, but are not limited to, tissue engineering and regenerative medicine, injury/disease modeling, ergonomics, rehabilitation or robotics are sought.

We seek faculty with expertise in Electrical & Computer Engineering or a related field. They are expected to lead the development of novel theory, state-of-art algorithms, and architectures for learning and real-time applications in human and machine-centered interaction and recognition, behavioral and neuro-cognitive deficits, and biomedical imaging and signal analysis, based on the disciplines of computer vision, signal/image processing, and AI/machine learning.
