Ponding of water in urban or other areas is occurring or is imminent. * ADDITIONAL DETAILS… – At 531 AM MDT, Doppler radar indicated heavy rain due to thunderstorms. Minor flooding is ongoing or expected to begin shortly in the advisory area. Between 1 and 2 inches of rain have fallen. – Additional rainfall amounts up to 1 inch are expected over the area. – Some locations that will experience flooding include… Dickinson.

Minor flooding is possible at Catawba Creek at East Hudson Blvd. Between 1 and 2 inches of rain have fallen. – Additional rainfall amounts of 0.2 to 0.5 inches are expected over the area. Magnitude 5.1 earthquake strikes near Adak, Aleutians West, Alaska, USA

The European-Mediterranean Seismological Centre (EMSC) reported a magnitude 5.1 quake in the United States near Adak, Aleutians West, Alaska, only 14 minutes ago. The earthquake hit early morning on Tuesday, August 5th, 2025, at 2:04 am local time at an intermediate depth of 48 miles. The exact magnitude, epicenter, and depth of the quake might be revised within the next few hours or minutes as seismologists review data and refine their calculations, or as other agencies issue their report.
Our monitoring service identified a second report from the German Research Centre for Geosciences (GFZ) which listed the quake at magnitude 5.1 as well.
Based on the preliminary seismic data, the quake should not have caused any significant damage, but was probably felt by many people as light vibration in the area of the epicenter.
Weak shaking might have been felt in Adak (pop. 330) located 34 miles from the epicenter.
