Just 20 minutes ago, a 4.6-magnitude earthquake struck near Vigan, Ilocos Sur, Ilocos, Philippines. The tremor was recorded in the morning on Tuesday, July 15th, 2025, at 7:22 am local time, at a shallow depth of 17. km below the surface.
The event was filed by the Philippine Institute of Volcanology and Seismology (PHIVOLCS), the first seismological agency to report it.

An earthquake of magnitude 4.8 occurred only 6 minutes ago 94 km northeast of Masohi, Indonesia, Indonesia’s Meteorology, Climatology, and Geophysical Agency reported.
The quake hit at a shallow depth of 10. km beneath the epicenter near Masohi, Kabupaten Maluku Tengah, Maluku, Indonesia, in the morning on Tuesday, July 15th, 2025, at 7:18 am local time. The exact magnitude, epicenter, and depth of the quake might be revised within the next few hours or minutes as seismologists review data and refine their calculations, or as other agencies issue their report.
Based on the preliminary seismic data, the quake should not have caused any significant damage, but was probably felt by many people as light vibration in the area of the epicenter.
Weak shaking might have been felt in Masohi (pop. 36,400) located 94 km from the epicenter.
Other towns or cities near the epicenter where the quake might have been felt as very weak shaking include Amahai (pop. 47,700) located 101 km from the epicenter.
