At 615 AM MDT, Doppler radar was tracking a strong thunderstorm over Wolf Creek Housing, or 8 miles east of Pine Ridge, moving east at 35 mph. HAZARD…Wind gusts up to 50 mph and nickel size hail. SOURCE…Radar indicated. IMPACT…Gusty winds could knock down tree limbs and blow around unsecured objects. Minor hail damage to vegetation is possible. Locations impacted include… Hoover Lake, Irwin, Intersection of Highway 20 and Irwin Road, and Shell Lake State Wildlife Management Area. This includes the following highways… Highway 20 between mile markers 121 and 135. Highway 61 between mile markers 229 and 230.

* WHAT…Flooding caused by excessive rainfall is expected. * WHERE…A portion of southeast North Carolina, including the following county, New Hanover. * WHEN…Until 1000 AM EDT. * IMPACTS…Minor flooding in low-lying and poor drainage areas. Overflowing poor drainage areas. Ponding of water in urban or other areas is occurring or is imminent. * ADDITIONAL DETAILS… – At 811 AM EDT, Doppler radar indicated heavy rain due to thunderstorms. Minor flooding is ongoing or expected to begin shortly in the advisory area. Between 3 and 4 inches of rain have fallen. – Additional rainfall amounts up to 1 inch are expected over the area. This additional rain will result in minor flooding.
