This will cause urban and small stream flooding. Up to 0.5 inches of rain have fallen. – Additional rainfall amounts up to 1.5 inches are expected over the area. At 624 PM EDT, Doppler radar was tracking a strong thunderstorm near Pleasant Hill, or 12 miles south of Kinston, moving northeast at 25 mph. HAZARD…Wind gusts up to 40 mph and pea size hail. SOURCE…Radar indicated. IMPACT…Gusty winds could knock down tree limbs and blow around unsecured objects. Minor hail damage to vegetation is possible. Locations impacted include… New Bern, Kinston, Trent Woods, River Bend, Grifton, Phillips Crossroads, Richlands, Vanceboro, Askins, Shelmerdine, Calico, Comfort, Fort Barnwell, Jasper, Tuscarora, Rhems, Wilmar, Graingers, Petersburg, and Pleasant Hill.
