STATEMENT TEXT …Cold air funnels will be possible… Cold air funnels are expected today. These cold air funnels are developing underneath a few showers that are moving across the area. Underneath these showers…spinning columns of air that look like tornadoes may continue to develop. These funnels usually are very brief and rarely touch the ground. * WHAT…Flooding caused by excessive rainfall continues. * WHERE…Cabo Rojo, Hormigueros, Mayaguez and San German. * WHEN…Until noon AST. * IMPACTS…Flooding of rivers, creeks, streams, and other low-lying and flood-prone locations is imminent or occurring. Streams continue to rise due to excess runoff from earlier rainfall. Low-water crossings are inundated with water and may not be passable. * ADDITIONAL DETAILS… – At 734 AM AST, gauge reports indicated heavy rain due to Excessive runoff. Flooding is already occurring in the warned area. – This includes the following streams and drainages… Rio Rosario_Guanajibo Watershed, Coastal Watershed North of Rio Guanajibo mouth, Rio Hondo, Rio Guanajibo, Rio Duey, Rio Hoconuco and Rio Viejo.
