Warm and very dry conditions are expected this afternoon, with humidity levels as low as 15 to 25 percent. Coupled with southeast to south winds gusting up to 20 to 25 mph, fire danger conditions will be elevated and may reach near critical levels. Fire danger will be greatest in localized areas where more prevalent dry or dormant grasses are still receptive to fire starts and spread. Winds will remain breezy or even increase further through the overnight and humidity levels will be slow to recover, so fire danger may remain elevated during the nighttime hours. Check with local officials before attempting any outdoor burning today. Do not leave open fires

Dry conditions will lead to near critical fire weather conditions today. Minimum relative humidity values of 15 to 20 percent are expected with north winds of 10 to 15 mph. Any areas with dry grasses or vegetation that have not greened up yet will be susceptible. Check with the WI DNR or your local county before attempting any outdoor burning.
