HAZARD…Wind gusts up to 40 mph and half inch hail. SOURCE…Radar indicated. IMPACT…Gusty winds could knock down tree limbs and blow around unsecured objects. Minor hail damage to vegetation is possible. Strong thunderstorms will be near… Ryland, Suffolk, Tyner, Corapeake, and Hobbsville around 625 AM EDT. Chesapeake and Belvidere around 630 AM EDT. Other locations impacted by these storms include Gliden, Horseshoe, Newsome Store, Savage, Peach, Suffolk Airport, Nicanor, Sharon, Carter, and Smithtown.

East winds persist through Tuesday but increase with gusts to 55 mph by this afternoon along the Eastern Beaufort Sea Coast and up to 40 mph from Nuiqsut to Utqiagvik. This will result in blowing snow and fog which may bring visibility below 1 mile at times. A Winter Weather Advisory may be needed this afternoon through Tuesday if visibility reduces to a half mile or less.
