Bands of snow showers are moving east to west across the Western Kenai Peninsula this morning, with the heaviest snow expected along the Sterling Highway and across the Homer Bluffs. These snow showers may be heavy at times, resulting in brief, but significant, reductions in visibility and snowfall rates between one half and one inch per hour. Total accumulations with this system will range from 1 to 3 inches. Heavier snowfall may cause slippery road conditions. Visibilities may be reduced in areas with heavier snow rates. Motorists are urged to slow down, turn on headlights, and use caution when driving.
