Although snow has been tapering off during the past hour or so…roads are very slippery and dangerous in spots across northern and central Vermont. Residual moisture and partially snow covered roads combined with temperatures below freezing has created icy roads. Additional factors such as the lack of accumulated road salt due to the start of the winter season and vehicles without winter tires can exaccerbate these driving conditions. Try to avoid unecessary travel during the next few hours. If you must travel, drive slow and cautious. Avoid sudden stops, turns and braking. Leave extra distance between you and other vehicles. Be patient, getting to your destination late is better than not
