Patchy dense fog has developed this morning, mainly near rivers and lakes. Visibilities have dropped to one-quarter of a mile or less within many river valleys across the region. Use caution if traveling this morning. Slow down, use low-beam headlights, and leave plenty of distance between you and other vehicles. Allow extra time for you to reach your destination.

* WHAT…High astronomical tides and south winds may cause moderate flooding in low lying areas along the Redwood coast. Up to one half foot (9.0 to 9.5 feet MLLW) of saltwater inundation above ground level is possible in low lying areas near shorelines and tidal waterways. * WHERE…Northern Humboldt Coast County. This includes King Salmon, the Arcata Bottoms and areas right on the waterfront in Eureka. * WHEN…Wednesday morning. Additional flooding is possible Thursday morning. * IMPACTS…Several coastal roads may be closed. Low lying property and some critical infrastructure will be inundated. Some shoreline erosion may occur. * ADDITIONAL DETAILS…Minor flooding is possible Tuesday with tides reaching near 8.8 above MLLW.
