* WHAT…Small stream flooding caused by excessive rainfall continues. * WHERE…A portion of northern Virginia, including the following county, City of Fairfax and Fairfax. * WHEN…Until 300 PM EDT. * IMPACTS…Flooding of rivers, creeks, streams, and other low-lying and flood-prone locations is imminent or occurring. Streams continue to rise due to excess runoff from earlier rainfall. Low-water crossings are inundated with water and may not be passable. * ADDITIONAL DETAILS… – At 1229 PM EDT, Doppler radar and automated rain gauges indicated slow moving thunderstorms with very heavy rainfall across the warned area. Between 1 and 2 inches of rain have fallen. – Additional rainfall amounts of 0.5 to 1 inch

At 1224 PM EDT, Doppler radar was tracking a strong thunderstorm near Kannapolis, moving northeast at 15 mph. HAZARD…Wind gusts up to 40 mph and half inch hail. SOURCE…Radar indicated. IMPACT…Gusty winds could knock down tree limbs and blow around unsecured objects. Minor hail damage to outdoor objects is possible. Locations impacted include… Enochville, China Grove, Coddle Creek Reservoir, West Concord, Kannapolis, Downtown Concord, and Landis.
