Just 9 minutes ago, a 4.5-magnitude earthquake struck near Bima, Bima City, West Nusa Tenggara, Indonesia. The tremor was recorded early morning on Wednesday, April 30th, 2025, at 4:44 am local time, at an intermediate depth of 144. km below the surface.
The event was filed by Indonesia’s Meteorology, Climatology, and Geophysical Agency, the first seismological agency to report it.
A second report was later issued by the European-Mediterranean Seismological Centre (EMSC), which listed it as a magnitude 4.4 earthquake.
Towns or cities near the epicenter where the quake might have been felt as very weak shaking include Sape (pop. 5,000) located 8 km from the epicenter, Bima (pop. 161,400) 23 km away, Dompu (pop. 55,000) 50 km away, Komodo (pop. 2,000) 63 km away, Tambolaka (pop. 35,800) 106 km away, and Labuan Bajo (pop. 188,700) 107 km away.
