Tue, 10 Jun 2025, 19:43 | BY: EARTHQUAKEMONITOR

A shallow magnitude 3.3 earthquake was reported around noon near Torrance, Los Angeles County, California, USA.
According to the United States Geological Survey, the quake hit on Tuesday, June 10th, 2025, at 12:15 pm local time at a shallow depth of 7 miles. Shallow earthquakes are felt more strongly than deeper ones as they are closer to the surface. The exact magnitude, epicenter, and depth of the quake might be revised within the next few hours or minutes as seismologists review data and refine their calculations, or as other agencies issue their report.
Our monitoring service identified a second report from The Incorporated Research Institutions for Seismology (IRIS) which listed the quake at magnitude 3.0. A third agency, the European-Mediterranean Seismological Centre (EMSC), reported the same quake at magnitude 3.2.
Towns or cities near the epicenter where the quake might have been felt as very weak shaking include Manhattan Beach (pop. 35,800) located 9 miles from the epicenter, Redondo Beach (pop. 68,200) 9 miles away, Rancho Palos Verdes (pop. 42,700) 11 miles away, Torrance (pop. 143,600) 12 miles away, Hawthorne (pop. 88,500) 13 miles away, Santa Monica (pop. 93,200) 14 miles away, Inglewood (pop. 111,700) 15 miles away, Carson (pop. 93,300) 15 miles away, and Los Angeles (pop. 3,898,700) 23 miles away.

If you felt it, report it
