Just 13 minutes ago, a 3.8-magnitude earthquake struck near Midland, Midland County, Texas, USA. The tremor was recorded early morning on Friday, May 2nd, 2025, at 3:58 am local time, at a very shallow depth of 3.1 miles below the surface.
The event was filed by the United States Geological Survey, the first seismological agency to report it.
A second report was later issued by The Incorporated Research Institutions for Seismology (IRIS), which listed it as a magnitude 3.8 earthquake as well. A third agency, the European-Mediterranean Seismological Centre (EMSC), reported the same quake at magnitude 3.8.
