An earthquake of magnitude 4.0 occurred after midnight on Friday, June 6th, 2025, at 12:16 am local time near Mesquite, Clark County, Nevada, USA, as reported by the United States Geological Survey.
According to preliminary data, the quake was located at a shallow depth of 10.7 miles. Shallow earthquakes are felt more strongly than deeper ones as they are closer to the surface. The exact magnitude, epicenter, and depth of the quake might be revised within the next few hours or minutes as seismologists review data and refine their calculations, or as other agencies issue their report.
Our monitoring service identified a second report from the European-Mediterranean Seismological Centre (EMSC) which listed the quake at magnitude 4.0 as well.
Towns or cities near the epicenter where the quake might have been felt as very weak shaking include Caliente (pop. 1,100) located 25 miles from the epicenter, Alamo (pop. 1,100) 27 miles away, Mesquite (pop. 17,500) 47 miles away, Beaver Dam (pop. 2,000) 49 miles away, Moapa Valley (pop. 6,900) 50 miles away, and St. George (pop. 72,900) 61 miles away.

If you felt it, report it through our site or app right now!
