Showers and weak thunderstorms have developed across the region and will continue to move southeast through the afternoon hours. While not likely to occur, atmospheric conditions are favorable for brief funnel clouds or a landspout with any thunderstorm that develop. These types of funnel clouds are usually short lived. However, they can and occasionally do touch the ground and cause minor damage. Therefore, if you see a funnel cloud and feel your safety is threatened, please seek shelter.
