Between 0.5 and 1 inch of rain has fallen. Additional rainfall amounts of 0.5 to 1 inch are possible in the warned area. Flash flooding is ongoing or expected to begin shortly. HAZARD…Flash flooding caused by thunderstorms. SOURCE…Radar. IMPACT…Flash flooding of small creeks and streams, highways, streets and underpasses as well as other poor drainage and low-lying areas.

At 128 AM CDT/1228 AM MDT/, severe thunderstorms were located along a line extending from near Herreid to 6 miles northwest of Lake Hiddenwood Rec Area to near Akaska to 6 miles southeast of Swan Creek Rec Area, moving east at 50 mph. HAZARD…60 mph wind gusts and quarter size hail. SOURCE…Radar indicated. IMPACT…Hail damage to vehicles is expected. Expect wind damage to roofs, siding, and trees. Magnitude 5.2 earthquake strikes near Petropavlovsk-Kamchatskiy, Kamchatka, Russia

A moderately shallow magnitude 5.2 earthquake was reported in the afternoon near Petropavlovsk-Kamchatskiy, Kamchatka, Russia.
According to the European-Mediterranean Seismological Centre (EMSC), the quake hit on Monday, July 21st, 2025, at 5:11 pm local time at a moderately shallow depth of 40. km. The exact magnitude, epicenter, and depth of the quake might be revised within the next few hours or minutes as seismologists review data and refine their calculations, or as other agencies issue their report.
Our monitoring service identified a second report from the citizen-seismograph network of RaspberryShake which listed the quake at magnitude 5.1. Other agencies reporting the same quake include France’s Réseau National de Surveillance Sismique (RéNaSS) at magnitude 5.0, and the German Research Centre for Geosciences (GFZ) at magnitude 5.1.
Generally quakes of this magnitude are recorded by more than one agency and the results can vary, with subsequent reports that come in after the first one often showing more accuracy.
Based on the preliminary seismic data, the quake should not have caused any significant damage, but was probably felt by many people as light vibration in the area of the epicenter.
Weak shaking might have been felt in Petropavlovsk-Kamchatskiy (pop. 181,200) located 109 km from the epicenter, Vilyuchinsk (pop. 25,200) 117 km away, Paratunka (pop. 1,800) 127 km away, and Yelizovo (pop.
