FRANKFORT, Ky. – In addition to applying for FEMA assistance, homeowners and renters in designated Kentucky counties have the option to apply for a low-interest disaster loan from the U.S. Small Business Administration at various stages of their recovery.

While FEMA doesn’t require survivors to apply for an SBA loan before being considered for FEMA assistance, the SBA can offer financial support to individuals and business owners to aid their recovery.

Homeowners and renters in Anderson, Butler, Carroll, Christian, Clark, Franklin, Hardin, Hopkins, Jessamine, McCracken, Mercer, Owen and Woodford counties can apply for federal assistance.

How To Apply for FEMA Assistance

Survivors in the Anderson, Butler, Carroll, Christian, Clark, Franklin, Hardin, Hopkins, Jessamine, McCracken, Mercer, Owen and Woodford counties who have disaster-caused damage or loss from the April storm can apply for federal disaster assistance under the major disaster declaration DR-4864 in several ways:

Online at DisasterAssistance.gov.Visit any Disaster Recovery Center. To find a center close to you, visit fema.gov/DRC, or text DRC along with your Zip Code to 43362 (Example: “DRC 29169”).Use the FEMA mobile app.FEMA works with every household on a case-by-case basis.Call the FEMA Helpline at 800-621-3362. The Department of Mechanical Engineering at Oakland University seeks to fill a one-year visiting faculty position in Solid Mechanics, CAD and FEA starting August 15, 2025. The person who fills this position will likely teach undergraduate and graduate level courses, and might be expected to assist the department with service activities.

The salary is competitive and the fringe benefits are excellent. Preference will be given tocandidates who demonstrate the potential to be effective in teaching. Relevant professional and/or industry experience is also desirable. An earned doctorate in Mechanical or a closely related field is required. Applicants must be currently authorized to work for the University in the United States on a full-time basis. The University will not sponsor work visas or permanent resident applications for this position.
