Open positions: 1-2 PhD students
We are seeking 1-2 research assistants for a PhD degree in either the Materials Science & Engineering (MSE) or Mechanical Engineering (ME) program at Arizona State University (ASU) in Tempe, AZ. Exceptional postdoctoral candidates will also be considered.

The current positions are available in the areas of (1) Advanced manufacturing of graphene-metal composites and (2) Plasma processes in semiconductor fabrication. Candidates with a strong MSE, ME, or other relevant background are encouraged to apply. The PhD positions will begin either in Fall 2025 or Spring 2026.

These projects are supported by the National Science Foundation and Applied Materials, a leading semiconductor company. Successful candidates will have unique opportunities to interact with Prof. Eric Nian at ASU, as well as with collaborators at Applied Materials, the Korea Institute of Machinery & Materials (KIMM), and the U.S. Naval Research Laboratory (NRL).
