Notice of Special Interest (NOSI): Digital Technology for Early Detection and Monitoring of Alzheimers Disease (AD) and AD-Related Dementias (ADRD)
This Notice of Special Interest (NOSI) encourages research on the use of digital technology for early detection and monitoring of cognitive and functional decline in persons with Alzheimers disease (AD) and AD-related dementias (ADRD). This NOSI is a reissue of NOT-AG-21-048.
Background
Early diagnosis and monitoring of AD/ADRD is an unmet need and a major goal in the Department of Health and Human Services’ National Plan to Address Alzheimers Disease. There is evidence that the functional, psychological, pathological, and physiological changes underlying AD/ADRD may emerge many years prior to the clinical manifestation of cognitive symptoms, prompting this call to identify earlier indicators of disease risk and subclinical disease burden.
Many current biomarkers for early detection of prodromal AD/ADRD (e.g., PET/MRI imaging)

Notice of Information: Administrative Supplements to Increase the Number of Training Slots in NIA-funded T32 Awards to Support Within-Scope Training of Music-Science Research
This notice represents NIAs participation in a joint effort between the National Institutes of Health (NIH) and the Foundation for the NIH (FNIH) as part of the Sound Health Initiative to address the need of capacity building for music and health. This notice aims to support existing NIH-funded Ruth L. Kirschstein National Research Service Award (NRSA) Institutional Research Training Grant (T32) programs to apply for an administrative supplement, which will provide an additional training slot for predoctoral or postdoctoral candidates interested in gaining advanced research skills at the interface between music or music-based interventions and the health or biomedical topic areas within the scopes supported by the parent T32s. This NIH-FNIH partnership on Sound
