Svartsengi (Reykjanes peninsula, SW Iceland): (22 May) The area beneath the Svartsengi region continues to swell as magma accumulates within the reservoir.
If the uplift continues at the current pace, the probability of a dike forming/or an eruption occurring—may rise as autumn approaches. However, any changes in the uplift rate, and thus the rate of magma accumulation, could alter this outlook.

Sakurajima (Kyushu, Japan): Explosive activity continues. Volcanic Ash Advisory Center (VAAC) Tokyo warned about a volcanic ash plume that rose up to estimated 12000 ft (3700 m) altitude or flight level 120 .
