A magnitude 5.2 earthquake near Kefamenanu, North Central Timor Regency, East Nusa Tenggara, Indonesia, was reported only 6 minutes ago by Indonesia’s Meteorology, Climatology, and Geophysical Agency, considered the main national agency that monitors seismic activity in Indonesia. The earthquake occurred at a moderately shallow depth of 51. km beneath the epicenter early morning on Monday, April 14th, 2025, at 3:35 am local time. The exact magnitude, epicenter, and depth of the quake might be revised within the next few hours or minutes as seismologists review data and refine their calculations, or as other agencies issue their report.

Weak shaking might have been felt in Naisano Dua (pop. 2,300) located 53 km from the epicenter, Kefamenanu (pop. 48,200) 78 km away, Soe (pop. 40,200) 95 km away, Atambua (pop. 82,200) 116 km away, and Kupang (pop. 442,800) 119 km away.
VolcanoDiscovery will automatically update magnitude and depth if these change and follow up if other significant news about the quake become available. If you’re
