An earthquake of magnitude 2.9 occurred only 19 minutes ago 15 miles southeast of Kadina, South Australia, Australia, Geoscience Australia (GeoAu) reported.
The quake hit at a shallow depth of 6.2 miles beneath the epicenter near Kadina, Copper Coast, South Australia, Australia, in the evening on Sunday, April 13th, 2025, at 9:29 pm local time. The exact magnitude, epicenter, and depth of the quake might be revised within the next few hours or minutes as seismologists review data and refine their calculations, or as other agencies issue their report.
Our monitoring service identified a second report from the European-Mediterranean Seismological Centre (EMSC) which listed the quake at magnitude 2.9 as well.
Towns or cities near the epicenter where the quake might have been felt as very weak shaking include Kainton (pop. 56) located 3 miles from the epicenter. In Kadina (pop. 2,700, 15 miles away), Wallaroo (pop. 3,500, 20 miles away), Moonta Bay (pop. 2,300, 21 miles away), Ardrossan (pop. 1,200, 23 miles away), Maitland (pop. 1,200, 25 miles away), and Balaklava (pop. 2,000, 28 miles away), the quake was probably not felt.

If you felt it, report it through our site or app right now!
