At 1210 PM MDT, Doppler radar was tracking a strong thunderstorm 11 miles north of Big Arm, or 17 miles south of Kalispell, moving east at 20 mph. HAZARD…Wind gusts up to 40 mph and pea size hail. SOURCE…Radar indicated. IMPACT…Gusty winds could knock down tree limbs and blow around unsecured objects. Minor damage to outdoor objects is possible. Locations impacted include… Woods Bay, Bigfork, Proctor, Lakeside, Lake Mary Ronan, Rollins, and Dayton. This includes the following highways… Highway 83 between mile markers 78 and 84. Highway 93 N between mile markers 81 and 99.

Warm and dry conditions are expected this afternoon. Coupled with breezy winds, conditions for fire are expected to be near critical. Areas along and east of I-29 are the most likely to experience near critical conditions. Humidity levels should decrease to 20-25% this afternoon as winds are weakening. Occasional gusts of 25-30 mph may create temporary periods of critical fire conditions.
