Indonesia’s Meteorology, Climatology, and Geophysical Agency reported a magnitude 4.5 quake in the Philippines near Kalamansig, Sultan Kudarat, Soccsksargen, only 7 minutes ago. The earthquake hit around noon on Monday, October 6th, 2025, at 1:56 pm local time at a great depth of 527. km. The exact magnitude, epicenter, and depth of the quake might be revised within the next few hours or minutes as seismologists review data and refine their calculations, or as other agencies issue their report.
According to preliminary calculations, we do not expect that the quake was felt by many people and did not cause any damage. In Sangay (pop. 3,800, 30 km away), Bantogon (pop. 5,400, 36 km away), Kalamansig (pop. 12,800, 39 km away), Palimbang (pop. 4,900, 43 km away), Laguilayan (pop. 17,800, 89 km away), Isulan (pop. 31,700, 95 km away), and Lake Sebu (pop. 21,800, 100 km away), the quake was probably not felt.
