Rip currents can pull swimmers and surfers out to sea. Waves can wash people off beaches and rocks, and capsize small boats nearshore.

Strong southerly winds of 40 to 45 mph will develop this afternoon and continue through this evening. These gusty winds could knock down tree limbs and blow around unsecured objects. These strong winds may also create areas of blowing dust and locally reduced visibilities in rural areas, particularly near any recently plowed fields.
