…CRITICAL FIRE WEATHER CONDITIONS FOR NORTHEAST MINNESOTA TODAY… .Strong southerly winds are forecast once again today, although they will be weaker than Sunday and Monday. Afternoon RH values will dip into the 15 to 30 percent range across the Northland with high temperatures generally in the 80s and to near 90 degrees. These conditions will create critical fire weather conditions over nearly all of northeast Minnesota (except for the immediate Lake Superior shore areas). Near-critical conditions are forecast over northwest Wisconsin due to lighter winds. Dry conditions and gusty winds will lead to near critical fire weather conditions today. Southerly winds of 5 to 12 mph with gusts up to 16 mph are forecast for this afternoon and evening. Minimum relative humidity values of 20 to 30 percent are also expected. Together, these conditions could lead to the rapid spread of fires. Check burning restrictions and fire danger before burning.
