As a University of Applied Learning, SIT works closely with industry in our research pursuits. Our research staff will have the opportunity to be equipped with applied research skill sets that are relevant to industry demands while working on research projects in SIT.

The primary responsibility of this role is to lead the research and development of a secure and privacy-preserving multimodal biometric authentication system for mobile devices using federated learning, supporting SIT’s mission as a university of applied learning through translational research that advances real-world applications in mobile security and user identity verification.

Klyuchevskoy (Kamchatka): A new eruption appeared at the volcano on 20 April.
A webcam imagery showed a glowing steam from atop the summit indicating likely minor strombolian activity. Whether a new lava started to emerge is unclear yet.

Bulusan (Luzon Island, Philippines): Explosive activity continues. Volcanic Ash Advisory Center (VAAC) Tokyo warned about a volcanic ash plume that rose up to estimated 20000 ft (6100 m) altitude or flight level 200 and is moving at 10 kts in W direction.
