At 126 AM CDT, Doppler radar was tracking a strong thunderstorm near Ridgway, or 8 miles north of Shawneetown, moving east at 25 mph. HAZARD…Wind gusts up to 40 mph and half inch hail. SOURCE…Radar indicated. IMPACT…Gusty winds could knock down tree limbs and blow around unsecured objects. Minor hail damage to vegetation is possible. Locations impacted include… Ridgway and New Haven.

The Michigan Department of Environmental Quality has issued an Air Quality Advisory for Thursday June 5, for elevated levels of fine particulates (PM2.5). Pollutants are expected to be in the Unhealthy for Sensitive Groups range. The alert is in effect for the following Michigan Counties, Southern Schoolcraft, Delta, Luce, Alger, and Northern Schoolcraft. It is recommended that, when possible, you avoid strenuous outdoor activities, especially those with heart disease and respiratory diseases such as asthma. Monitor for symptoms such as wheezing, coughing, chest tightness, dizziness, or burning in nose, throat, and eyes. Reduce or eliminate activities that contribute to air pollution, such as outdoor burning, and use of residential wood burning

An unsettled weather pattern remains in store for Palau and Yap for the rest of the week. A tropical disturbance, known as JTWC’s Invest 92W is centered just northwest Yap Proper, and is expected to further consolidate well northwest of Yap and Palau over the next few days. A series of southwesterly monsoon surges will continue to pummel both Palau and Yap as well.
