A low pressure system moving across the Upper Midwest is spreading strong and gusty winds into much of Iowa this afternoon. In southwestern Iowa, westerly winds of 20 to 30 MPH are expected with frequent gusts to around 40 MPH. Please be aware of this when traveling, especially for high profile vehicles on north-south roads. With many fields plowed and crops not yet up, areas of blowing dust can also be expected and may briefly reduce visibility.
