The European-Mediterranean Seismological Centre (EMSC) reported a magnitude 4.4 quake in Cyprus near Paphos, Pafos, only 6 minutes ago. The earthquake hit in the morning on Thursday, November 13th, 2025, at 11:27 am local time at a shallow depth of 13.50 km. The exact magnitude, epicenter, and depth of the quake might be revised within the next few hours or minutes as seismologists review data and refine their calculations, or as other agencies issue their report.
Our monitoring service identified a second report from the German Research Centre for Geosciences (GFZ) which listed the quake at magnitude 4.4 as well. A third agency, the National Observatory of Athens (NOA), reported the same quake at magnitude 4.2.
Based on the preliminary seismic data, the quake was probably felt by many people in the area of the epicenter. It should not have caused significant damage, other than objects falling from shelves, broken windows, etc.
In Kelokedara (pop. 190) located 2 km from the epicenter, the quake should have been felt as light shaking.
Weak shaking might have been felt in Geroskipou (pop. 8,400) located 19 km from the epicenter, Paphos (pop. 36,000) 20 km away, Kato Polemidia (pop. 23,200) 35 km away, Limassol (pop. 154,000) 39 km away, Germasogeia (pop. 17,300) 42 km away,
