An earthquake of magnitude 4.7 occurred only 6 minutes ago 85 km east of Sarangani, Philippines, Indonesia’s Meteorology, Climatology, and Geophysical Agency reported.
The quake hit at an intermediate depth of 72. km beneath the epicenter near Sarangani, Davao Occidental, Davao, Philippines, around noon on Thursday, November 27th, 2025, at 12:41 pm local time. The exact magnitude, epicenter, and depth of the quake might be revised within the next few hours or minutes as seismologists review data and refine their calculations, or as other agencies issue their report.
A second report was later issued by the citizen-seismograph network of RaspberryShake, which listed it as a magnitude 4.7 earthquake as well.
Towns or cities near the epicenter where the quake might have been felt as very weak shaking include Sarangani (pop. 7,500) located 85 km from the epicenter, Kalbay (pop. 4,300) 95 km away, Sugal (pop. 2,800) 95 km away, Caburan (pop. 12,600) 97 km away, and Culaman (pop. 3,500) 100 km away.
VolcanoDiscovery will automatically update magnitude and depth if these change and follow up if other significant news about the quake become available.
