France’s Réseau National de Surveillance Sismique (RéNaSS) reported a magnitude 3.6 quake in France near Bayonne, Pyrénées-Atlantiques, Nouvelle-Aquitaine, only 6 minutes ago. The earthquake hit early afternoon on Saturday, November 22nd, 2025, at 2:47 pm local time at a shallow depth of 14.94 km. The exact magnitude, epicenter, and depth of the quake might be revised within the next few hours or minutes as seismologists review data and refine their calculations, or as other agencies issue their report.

Weak shaking might have been felt in Saint-Palais (pop. 2,000) located 6 km from the epicenter.
Other towns or cities near the epicenter where the quake might have been felt as very weak shaking include Hasparren (pop. 6,300) located 17 km from the epicenter, Orthez (pop. 11,900) 32 km away, Bayonne (pop. 44,400) 34 km away, Anglet (pop. 40,700) 37 km away, Biarritz (pop. 33,200) 39 km away, and Dax (pop. 22,300) 42 km away.
