Just 13 minutes ago, a 3.1-magnitude earthquake struck near Belchatow, Bełchatów County, Wojewodztwo Lodzkie, Poland. The tremor was recorded early afternoon on Wednesday, November 19th, 2025, at 3:08 pm local time, at a very shallow depth of 5. km below the surface.
The event was filed by the German Research Centre for Geosciences (GFZ), the first seismological agency to report it.
A second report was later issued by the citizen-seismograph network of RaspberryShake, which listed it as a magnitude 3.1 earthquake as well. A third agency, the European-Mediterranean Seismological Centre (EMSC), reported the same quake at magnitude 3.1.
Based on the preliminary seismic data, the quake should not have caused any significant damage, but was probably felt by many people as light vibration in the area of the epicenter.
Weak shaking might have been felt in Rzasnia (pop. 730) located 3 km from the epicenter.
Other towns or cities near the epicenter where the quake might have been felt as very weak shaking include Belchatow (pop. 62,900) located 27 km from the epicenter, and Radomsko (pop. 45,400) 30 km away. In Wielun (pop. 21,900, 35 km away), Czestochowa (pop. 248,100, 45 km away), Zdunska Wola (pop. 44,500, 45 km away), Piotrkow Trybunalski (pop. 80,100, 50 km away), Sieradz (pop. 44,400, 50 km away),
