The European-Mediterranean Seismological Centre (EMSC) reported a magnitude 3.0 quake in Poland near Glogow, Głogów County, Lower Silesian Voivodeship, only 4 minutes ago. The earthquake hit in the morning on Thursday, September 4th, 2025, at 11:01 am local time at a shallow depth of 10. km. The exact magnitude, epicenter, and depth of the quake might be revised within the next few hours or minutes as seismologists review data and refine their calculations, or as other agencies issue their report.
Our monitoring service identified a second report from the citizen-seismograph network of RaspberryShake which listed the quake at magnitude 2.9. A third agency, the German Research Centre for Geosciences (GFZ), reported the same quake at magnitude 2.9.
Towns or cities near the epicenter where the quake might have been felt as very weak shaking include Grebocice (pop. 1,500) located 6 km from the epicenter, Polkowice (pop. 21,600) 7 km away, Glogow (pop. 67,300) 13 km away, and Lubin (pop. 77,500) 17 km away. In Legnica (pop. 106,000, 38 km away), Nowa Sol (pop. 40,400, 41 km away), Leszno (pop. 63,600, 44 km away), and Boleslawiec (pop. 40,700, 51 km away), the quake was probably not felt.
