An earthquake of magnitude 3.5 occurred only 14 minutes ago 11 miles southeast of Hemet, California, United States, the United States Geological Survey reported.
The quake hit at a shallow depth of 10.2 miles beneath the epicenter near Hemet, Riverside County, California, USA, in the morning on Friday, August 15th, 2025, at 9:43 am local time. The exact magnitude, epicenter, and depth of the quake might be revised within the next few hours or minutes as seismologists review data and refine their calculations, or as other agencies issue their report.
Our monitoring service identified a second report from The Incorporated Research Institutions for Seismology (IRIS) which listed the quake at magnitude 3.1.
Towns or cities near the epicenter where the quake might have been felt as very weak shaking include Mountain Center (pop. 63) located 5 miles from the epicenter, East Hemet (pop. 17,400) 9 miles away, Hemet (pop. 83,900) 11 miles away, San Jacinto (pop. 47,000) 12 miles away, Palm Springs (pop. 47,400) 18 miles away, Menifee (pop. 87,200) 20 miles away, Temecula (pop. 110,000) 24 miles away, and Murrieta (pop. 109,800) 25 miles away. In Riverside (pop. 322,400, 39 miles away), the quake was probably not felt.

An earthquake of magnitude 3.1 occurred only 15 minutes ago 20 km northwest of Tirana, Albania, The Aristotle University of Thessaloniki Geophysical Lab. (AUTH) reported.
The quake hit at a very shallow depth of 5. km beneath the epicenter near Tirana, Bashkia Tiranë, Albania, early evening on Friday, August 15th, 2025, at 6:24 pm local time. The exact magnitude, epicenter, and depth of the quake might be revised within the next few hours or minutes as seismologists review data and refine their calculations, or as other agencies issue their report.
Our monitoring service identified a second report from The Seismological Survey of Serbia (SSS) which listed the quake at magnitude 3.8. A third agency, the citizen-seismograph network of RaspberryShake, reported the same quake at magnitude 3.3.
Based on the preliminary seismic data, the quake should not have caused any significant damage, but was probably felt by many people as light vibration in the area of the epicenter.
Weak shaking might have been felt in Fushe-Kruje (pop. 10,500) located 6 km from the epicenter, and Vore (pop. 5,000) 7 km away.
Other towns or cities near the epicenter where the quake might have been felt as very weak shaking include Kamez (pop. 11,000) located 12 km from the epicenter, Kruje (pop. 21,300) 14 km away, Tirana (pop. 418,500) 20
