Spain’s Instituto Geográfico Nacional (IGN) reported a magnitude 2.6 quake in Spain near Molina de Segura, Murcia, only 21 minutes ago. The earthquake hit around noon on Friday, October 31st, 2025, at 12:32 pm local time at a very shallow depth of 4. km. The exact magnitude, epicenter, and depth of the quake might be revised within the next few hours or minutes as seismologists review data and refine their calculations, or as other agencies issue their report.
Our monitoring service identified a second report from the European-Mediterranean Seismological Centre (EMSC) which listed the quake at magnitude 2.6 as well.
Based on the preliminary seismic data, the quake should not have caused any significant damage, but was probably felt by many people as light vibration in the area of the epicenter.
Weak shaking might have been felt in Ceuti (pop. 10,200) located 0 km from the epicenter.
Other towns or cities near the epicenter where the quake might have been felt as very weak shaking include Archena (pop. 18,200) located 4 km from the epicenter, Molina de Segura (pop. 64,100) 6 km away, Las Torres de Cotillas (pop. 21,100) 7 km away, and Alcantarilla (pop. 41,100) 14 km away. In Murcia (pop. 460,300, 16 km away), Mula (pop. 16,900, 20 km away), Cieza (pop. 35,200, 22 km
