Just 29 minutes ago, a 5.2-magnitude earthquake struck near La Paz, La Paz Municipality, Estado de Baja California Sur, Mexico. The tremor was recorded early afternoon on Sunday, November 16th, 2025, at 2:43 pm local time, at a very shallow depth of 0. km below the surface.
The event was filed by The Colombian Geological Service (SGC), the first seismological agency to report it.
Based on the preliminary seismic data, the quake should not have caused any significant damage, but was probably felt by many people as light vibration in the area of the epicenter.
Weak shaking might have been felt in Meliton Albanez Dominguez (pop. 1,600) located 60 km from the epicenter, El Centenario (pop. 4,700) 80 km away, Todos Santos (pop. 5,100) 83 km away, Chametla (pop. 2,200) 83 km away, and La Paz (pop. 250,100) 90 km away.
