* WHAT…One to two feet of inundation above ground level in low- lying areas near shorelines and tidal waterways. * WHERE…Accomack and Northampton Counties. * WHEN…Until midnight EDT tonight. * IMPACTS…Widespread flooding of vulnerable areas will result in an elevated threat of property damage to homes and businesses near the waterfront and shoreline. Water will be 1 to 2 feet above ground level in some areas resulting in a sufficient depth to close numerous roads and threaten homes and businesses. Flooding will extend inland from the waterfront along tidal rivers and bays resulting in some road closures and flooding of vehicles.

The European-Mediterranean Seismological Centre (EMSC) reported a magnitude 2.6 quake in Germany near Koblenz, Rheinland-Pfalz, only 8 minutes ago. The earthquake hit early morning on Friday, October 31st, 2025, at 1:55 am local time at a shallow depth of 10. km. The exact magnitude, epicenter, and depth of the quake might be revised within the next few hours or minutes as seismologists review data and refine their calculations, or as other agencies issue their report.
Towns or cities near the epicenter where the quake might have been felt as very weak shaking include Ochtendung (pop. 5,200) located 1 km from the epicenter, Andernach (pop. 29,600) 8 km away, Neuwied (pop. 66,800) 10 km away, and Mayen (pop. 19,400) 12 km away. In Koblenz (pop. 107,300, 14 km away), Bendorf (pop. 17,500, 16 km away), Lahnstein (pop. 18,700, 18 km away), and Bonn (pop. 330,600, 46 km away), the quake was probably not felt.
