An earthquake of magnitude 6.0 occurred only 13 minutes ago 128 km southeast of Petropavlovsk-Kamchatskiy, Russia, the European-Mediterranean Seismological Centre (EMSC) reported.
The quake hit at a moderately shallow depth of 32. km beneath the epicenter near Petropavlovsk-Kamchatskiy, Kamchatka, Russia, in the morning on Wednesday, November 5th, 2025, at 10:29 am local time. The exact magnitude, epicenter, and depth of the quake might be revised within the next few hours or minutes as seismologists review data and refine their calculations, or as other agencies issue their report.
Our monitoring service identified a second report from the citizen-seismograph network of RaspberryShake which listed the quake at magnitude 5.9. Other agencies reporting the same quake include the German Research Centre for Geosciences (GFZ) at magnitude 6.0, and France’s Réseau National de Surveillance Sismique (RéNaSS) at magnitude 5.9.
Based on the preliminary seismic data, the quake was probably felt by many people in the area of the epicenter. It should not have caused significant damage, other than objects falling from shelves, broken windows, etc.
In Petropavlovsk-Kamchatskiy (pop. 181,200) located 128 km from the epicenter, Vilyuchinsk (pop. 25,200) 129 km away, and Paratunka (pop. 1,800) 139 km away, the quake should have been felt as light shaking.

An earthquake of magnitude 6.2 occurred only 7 minutes ago 73 km south of Gorontalo, Indonesia, Indonesia’s Meteorology, Climatology, and Geophysical Agency reported.
The quake hit at an intermediate depth of 101. km beneath the epicenter near Gorontalo, Kota Gorontalo, Indonesia, in the morning on Wednesday, November 5th, 2025, at 7:32 am local time. The exact magnitude, epicenter, and depth of the quake might be revised within the next few hours or minutes as seismologists review data and refine their calculations, or as other agencies issue their report.
Our monitoring service identified a second report from the German Research Centre for Geosciences (GFZ) which listed the quake at magnitude 5.9. A third agency, the European-Mediterranean Seismological Centre (EMSC), reported the same quake at magnitude 6.2.
