A magnitude 3.6 earthquake near Redway, Humboldt County, California, USA, was reported only 6 minutes ago by the United States Geological Survey, considered the key international and national agency that monitors seismic activity in the US. The earthquake occurred at a very shallow depth of 2.8 miles beneath the epicenter early afternoon on Sunday, October 26th, 2025, at 2:06 pm local time. Weak shaking might have been felt in Benbow (pop. 320) located 8 miles from the epicenter, and Redway (pop. 1,200) 11 miles away.
Other towns or cities near the epicenter where the quake might have been felt as very weak shaking include Laytonville (pop. 1,200) located 25 miles from the epicenter, and Covelo (pop. 1,300) 27 miles away. In Rio Dell (pop. 3,400, 40 miles away), and Fort
