The Francis College of Engineering (FCOE) at the University of Massachusetts Lowell (UMass Lowell) is searching for outstanding candidates for a full-time tenure-track Assistant Professor position in Biomedical Engineering.  The position is anticipated to begin in September 2026.

UMass Lowell’s Department of Biomedical Engineering trains students to translate discoveries into real-world applications in the medical device and biotechnology industries through an ABET-accredited B.S. program—Massachusetts’ first at a public university—with specialized tracks in medical device development, cell and tissue engineering, and biomechanics. Students can accelerate their education with a 4+1 B.S.–to–M.S. option and pursue advanced studies via the intercampus Biomedical Engineering and Biotechnology (BMEBT) M.S./Ph.D. or the Ph.D. in Biomedical Engineering, all enhanced by hands-on research in cutting-edge labs and core facilities. The Francis College of Engineering (FCOE) at the University of Massachusetts Lowell (UMass Lowell) invites applications from exceptional candidates for a full-time Assistant Teaching Professor position in the Biomedical Engineering Department. The role is expected to start in September 2026. Teaching Professors play a vital role in developing and delivering curriculum within the FCOE and are actively involved in departmental, college, and university activities. Assistant Teaching Professors enjoy full faculty privileges and undergo an assessment for promotion to Associate Teaching Professor (with equivalent to tenure).

The successful candidate will join the department and college faculty and will be responsible for teaching undergraduate and/or graduate courses, engaging in curriculum development, contributing to professional activities, and participating in relevant departmental and university service, including outreach.
